If you are looking for a gate that matches your current fence or the one you plan to have fitted, you will probably choose a closeboard gate or a framed picket gate. This style of gate is usually used as a side entrance to the property, or within the garden to allow entrance to fenced off area.
If you require a gate to give you some added security either a single or a pair, the tongue and groove finish gate is most popular and can be offered with a flat topped finished, a curved top finish, or with an open slatted area at the top, which can be designed using wood or metal bars.
The more substantial 70 mm entrance gates are very strong and ideal where security is a requirement, these are made in hardwood or softwood and are available in various styles, this style of gate either single or double and is suitable for automation.
This type of gate will give you a more decorative appearance at the front of your property. You may Live in an area where there is a boundary height restriction at the front of property, these would be ideal for you. These are also available single or as a pair.
This style of gate can be constructed using pressure treated softwood, or hardwood and is usually used for a driveway, a courtyard, or for the entrance to a paddock. They are generally used in a more rural or agricultural setting. We can also supply and fit a seven bar metal field gate if this is what you need.
In some circumstances it is possible to fix your gate to an adjoining structure using a substantial wooden plate. However in most cases the gate will be fixed to a gatepost, these are usually made from pressure treated softwood, and have a four way pointed top.
Other posts are available which may be better suited for your design. We can supply and fit oak posts, planed softwood or metal posts.
There are a large number of fixtures and fittings that we can offer you for your gates, from various styles of hinges to key lock systems, so when we come to discuss your requirements we will be able to show you different styles and types, to help you make your decision.
Many of the gates offered are pressure treated so you don't have to rush out there and paint or stain them. But some gates are not treated, so we recommend that these are treated before fitting. This is something we can offer or you can do yourself.
